VERSION 3.01 IS MORE THAN A MAINTENANCE RELEASE The 3.01 release of PixelPaint Pro3 includes several maintenance improvements, particularly in the area of performance increases. Speed has been enhanced in such areas as opening and saving files, rotating images, applying any of the more than 30 built–in special effects filters, as well as applying seamless color patterns and surface textures (PixelPapers™).
PixelPaint's pressure and texture sensitive brushes received excellent reviews in the 3.0 version. Even so, version 3.01 marks substantial enhancements in overall responsiveness and smoothness of brush operation.
With the improvements mentioned above plus the inclusion of Pantone's POCE, PixelPaint Pro3 version 3.01 represents a very worthwhile upgrade. It is free to all registered users of version 3.0.

PixelPaint Pro 3.01 provided the following enhancements and fixed the following bugs :
– Increased support for pressure–sensitive input devices, with the additions of "Opacity" and "Both" to the pressure settings in the Brush Palette.
– Implemented support for the PANTONE Open Color Environment, providing the ability to pick PANTONE colors and perform color–matching operations
using output device–specific profiles.
– Overall speed enhancements to the program, with significant improvements
in the following areas: opening and saving large files, moving large Pixel*Layers, performing dynamic effects such as Rotation, running Pro3 filters.
PixelPaint Pro 3.02 provided the following enhancements and fixed the following bugs :
– Improved virtual memory scheme, speeding up the read/write of information to virtual files on disk (used with large/complex image files).
– Overall speed enhancements to the program, with significant improvements in the following areas: running Pro3 and third–party plug–in filters.
– AVAILABLE NOW; completely System 7.5 compatible, with support for AppleScript, ColorSync, Macintosh Drag & Drop, and QuickTime.
PixelPaint Pro (Power Mac) did not exist before version 3.02. The Power Mac version does not offer any additional features over the 680x0 Macintosh version, save that it is considerably faster –– truly "Accelerated for Power Macintosh."
